With reference to my previous review on the Pinewood clothing for spring & summer (click HERE to read this review), I now would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about my test of the autumn & winter version, called "Syberia". The Swedish clothing company has indeed created a nice range of clothing for you in case you would like to take your camera during a trip in the chilly autumn months or even in the cold winter period.

In the “Oostvaarderplassen” near Almere in Northern Netherlands, a fairly compact but open nature reserve where the wind can blow so hard that temperatures drop very quickly, I found the exact circumstances to test the clothing while capturing some pretty birds.
The Pinewood "Siberia Winter 7882"
The jacket has a very fashionable design and is therefore not only to be used during nature trips, but also during city trips. The coat has a brown color and feels thick and warm. Also inside, the lining is soft and warm. The high-tech membrane keeps you dry and the lining of the jacket will guaranty to have nicely warm. After a whole day in the cold wind, I can assure that I never felt cold at any time. On top of this, a waterproofed and very handy seat is processed in the back of the jacket. As the brand is largely focusing on the hunting market, an orange safety strap that is foreseen on the left sleeve of the jacket. For photographers perhaps less important, unless you intend to walk in a hunting area. Pockets are foreseen in abundance, but photographers could be disappointed when trying to stab a camera or telephoto lens. These pockets are really not developed for this purpose. The price for the jacket has been fixed at € 240, but currently a promotion is available at € 209.
The Pinewood "Siberia Winter Trousers 9982"
The trousers are made in the same brown color, just like the jacket and they feel warm & soft. The same lining as well as the high-tech membrane that we find in the jacket, is also used in the trousers. Nice and warm, even in cold temperatures. In the top of the trousers a space is provided for a belt. You will find also the necessary buttons for braces, which are sold separately. On the side of your hips, two standard rear pockets and also 2 large pockets lockable with a zipper are foreseen. On the side of your thighs a big bag along one side closed with a zipper is available, at the other side a bag with buttons. At the bottom of your pants, you can adjust the width with a chord. For € 150 it's yours, but also here presently a promotion is available at € 119.
Conclusion
Pinewood has managed to launch a decent clothing range on the market. Some minor adjustments for photographers have already been foreseen but could be further developed in the future. The clothing is however very durable and solid and therefore, if you want to purchase a good outdoor pants and ditto jacket for your photographic winter trips, you should not hesitate and buy a Pinewood.
